Naval Museum of the Caribbean

It is a historic building of almost 3,500 square meters, located in the walled enclosure of Cartagena de Indias which is divided into two large wings: Colonial and Republican.

In this place the history of Cartagena de Indias from its first inhabitants (Carib Indians) history of navigation and the Colombian Navy will be staged in a didactic way.

The history of Cartagena is undoubtedly linked to its relationship with the sea, and the detailed texts shown in the Naval Museum of the Caribbean offer a summary of 300 years of naval conflicts off the coast of the city. You will learn all about the Spanish conquest of Colombia and the subsequent attempts of other European fleets to take Cartagena. And on the top floor there is information about the modern Colombian navy and its role in the Korean War.
